Sculpture & Exploration / Installation > ecotone (2009)

ecotone describes the unique boundary between two different ecosystems. within it one finds elements characteristic of both worlds. in these photos the needle-felted animals explore literal ecotones - boundaries between natural land, and lands domesticated and urbanized. they also represent a theoretical 'ecotone', an ambiguous transition between the 'real' physical world and one that is imagined and manipulated.
